Bill Gates Investing in Ethanol Fuel
The world's richest man Bill Gates of Microsoft seems to have made the ethanol fuel industry just a little bit more legitimate, investing $84 million in the Californian based Pacific Ethanol company.
Pacific Ethanol aims to become the West Coast's leading marketer and producer of renewable fuels. With a product line that currently emphasizes clean-burning corn-based ethanol fuel.
The president of Pacific Ethanol Neil Koehler said in an interview with Reuters news said that "It's not only had a huge impact on our operations, but it's had a huge ripple effect on the whole industry. It has really caused a stir in the ethanol industry that Bill Gates has stepped up and said: 'I believe in ethanol.'" CNN
